We wanted to check in with an update on where your PicoTorches are at.

Production is still underway
We're still deep into production, however since receiving our latest batch of production tests, we noticed a slight looseness in the way some of the torches have been built.
As the lumens were expanded to their maximum, some of the circuitboards were pushing the limits of what is possible to fit in such a small place and as such, the bottom half would activate prematurely when screwed together.

Why the wait?
We wanted to make sure the units you get are reflective of exactly what we advertised, so we've already sent it back to the manufacturer to provide us with an implemented fix to the circuitboard and trim off some of the excess to ensure it fits smoothly and works effectively.

Mirror and matte
In addition to this, the colour of the Titanium version is a matte silver, whereas the Steel version is a mirror finish. The Damascus Steel is still a half-matte with a subtle yet dull enveloping swirl across the entire body of the torch.
We've tried to emulate the dark lines on our rendering as much as possible, however the stark contrast is more dull than we thought and we're also discussing methods to try to make it as vibrant as possible.

Next steps
We know these are all limitations we can get through, as they don't affect the actual force of the torch, so we're doing whatever we can to ensure we get you the best finish on your torches in hand.

We now predict shipping will happen around late August/September
Fixing those problems may take slightly longer than we'd hoped, so we'd like to extend our lead time by around 2 months to be safe. We know this isn't what you wanted to hear, however pushing the boundaries of what is possible is not an easy task, especially when you're a stickler for the details.

BackerKit check-in
Surprisingly, we're already in production but around 15-20% of you are still waiting to do your surveys. While this may skew the numbers somewhat, we've already accounted for the difference and will be shipping those people who have completed their surveys first.
